If you’ve booked a holiday in the Algarve, then you’re certainly going to have a lovely trip away. This part of the world is both beautiful and exciting, with plenty to do for all types of holidaymakers. Those of you who will be spending time in Albufeira will no doubt already be looking into what you can see and do – so here’s a blog post just for you on that very subject.
Albufeira started off life as a small fishing town and happily, it’s succeeded in retaining this village feel despite the fact it’s been developed over the years to become a stunning resort, complete with marina, hotels and lots of brilliant restaurants.
Of course you’re sure to want to spend as much time as possible outside and you’ll be in luck if you choose to stay in Albufeira. Give a spot of wind surfing a go, or even book yourself on a cruise around the local coastline. You can even book yourself on a dolphin or whale-watching tour!
There are also some stunning beaches to be found in this part of the Algarve. Praia da Marinha, for example, is just a short half hour drive away from the town, while Ilha de Tavira is just under an hour away. This is a great family beach, but bear in mind that nudity is accepted here so if you have very young children you may want to go elsewhere.
And if you’re keen to sample the local night life, you’ll find lots on offer around here. Head to Montechero where you’ll find The Strip, with lots of bars and nightclubs that cater to all tastes.
We’d love to hear what you’d recommend to those who haven’t been to Albufeira before. Drop us a line to let us know what your top picks are.
And don’t forget – if you need Algarve airport transfers or taxis, we here at Algarve 365 have all your bases covered.
